The 16th footage from the Conan Doyle 16 minutes home movie (Richard Lancelyn Green collection) shows Clement John De Garis just after arriving at Brisbane after his record flight from Sydney (1921).

In the footage, two title cards show:

  • Mr. C. J. De Garis arrives at Brisbane after his record flight from Sydney. He had lunch in Sydney & afternoon tea in Brisbane.
  • Immediately he landed, an organiser for the Queensland Government Loan (Lt. Grant Hanlon) tackled him for an application. He replied cheerily "Righto," and wrote out a cheque for a £500 bond, adding that he thought it the best investment in Australia to-day.
