The 17th footage from the Conan Doyle 16 minutes home movie (Richard Lancelyn Green collection) shows Arthur Conan Doyle and Clement John De Garis applying for bonds in the Queensland Government Bond (1921).

In the footage, three title cards show:

  • Sir Conan Doyle the noted Author and Spiritualist, and Mr. C. J. De Garis of "Sunraysed" fame, apply for Bonds in the Queensland Government Loan.
  • This was the first occasion upon which Sir CONAN ever allowed himself to be cinematographed.
  • The State Treasurer (Hon. J. A. Fihelly) receives their applications, and thanks them both for the interest they have shown in Queensland's welfare.
