Gus Bofa (ca. 1950)

Gustave Henri Émile Blanchot aka "Gus Bofa" (23 may 1883 - 1 september 1968) was a French illustrator and writer.

Circa 1920-1923, he did 5 illustrations for Arthur Conan Doyle's fictions published by L'Édition Française Illustrée.

These same cover illustrations were used for different volumes. Note that one of the illustrations shows a character disguised as Sherlock Holmes but was not used to illustrate a Sherlock Holmes volume, but for The Doings of Raffles Haw / The Retirement of Signor Lambert.
