The Mohabite Cipher

The Mohabite Cipher is the 9th episode in season 2 of the BBC TV series: The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes. Aired on 26 march 1973. 50 min.

Dr. John Evelyn Thorndyke is a fictional character created by Richard Austin Freeman.

Peter Sallis also played Dr. Watson on stage in Baker Street: A Musical Adventure of Sherlock Holmes in 1965.



Plot summary

Coming to the aid of a man kicked by a rearing police horse, Dr. John Thorndyke stumbles upon an anarchist plot to assassinate a visiting Russian grand duke. The key appears to be a cryptogram written in ancient Moabite found on the man's body.
