William B. Davis (born 13 january 1938) is a Canadian actor most famous for his role of the Cigarette Smoking Man in X-Files (1993-2018).
In 2000, he played Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in episode The Truth in Here of the TV series Mentors. And in 2014 he directed the play Sherlock Holmes and The Case of the Jersey Lily with Brent Fidler as Sherlock Holmes.
In 2018, he played an old Doctor Watson in the movie The Doctor's Case with J. P. Winslow as Sherlock Holmes.
