Rain interfered considerably with the play in this annual match at Lord's yesterday. After little more than an hour's play rain caused a stoppage, the Authors then having cored 39 for the loss of four wickets. Just after three o'clock the game was resumed, and with the total at 149 for eight wickets the innings was closed. With none too much time in hand, the Actors set about the task of winning, and, holding the whip hand of the bowling, they knocked up the runs and won just on time by eight wickets. V. O'Connor played a free innings for the winners, and going in first, carried out his bat for one hundred, his hits being six 5's, fourteen 4's, three 3's, and five 2's. Score and analysis:
