People I Have Never Met is a one-page section of The Idler where illustrator Scott Rankin was drawing an illustration depicting a character of an author, and a citation of the novel.

In august 1894, his section was dedicated to Conan Doyle with an illustration of Du Lhut (wrongly spelled Du Luht) from The Refugees.
