Dear Mrs Everett

Many thanks for letting me see the enclosed. Poor old Buchan! I remember him the bravest man in a brave ships crew. I once saw him run across the back of a living whale, which surely few men have done.

It was a pleasure to meet your sons the other day. You seem blessed in your family.
