Sherlock Holmes is an American 4-act play, written by William Gillette and Arthur Conan Doyle, directed by Frank Dunlop, performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Broadhurst Theatre (New York, NY, USA) from 19 august 1975 to 4 january 1976, starring Robert Stephens as Sherlock Holmes and Dennis Cooney as Dr. Watson.
Robert Stephens succeeded in the title role in this play after John Wood (see play), Patrick Horgan (see play) and John Neville (see play).
The play is an adaptation of the William Gillette's Sherlock Holmes (1899).
