Хитровка. Знак Четырёх (Khitrovka. The Sign of Four) is a Russian movie released on 18 may 2023, directed by Karen Shakhnazarov, produced by Mosfilm and Kuryer Film Studio with the support of the Russya TV channel, starring Konstantin Kryukov as Konstantin Stanislavsky, the director, and Mikhail Porechenkov as Vladimir Gilyarovsky, the reporter. 129 min.
This is an adaptation of the Arthur Conan Doyle's novel: The Sign of Four (1888).
Official synopsis: « Moscow, 1902. The famous director Konstantin Stanislavsky, in search of inspiration for staging a new play, decides to get acquainted with the life of the city slums. He turns to Vladimir Gilyarovsky, a recognized expert of Moscow, for help. Together they go to the legendary bandit district: "Khitrovka" and find themselves involved in the investigation of the murder of a mysterious local resident, an Indian Sikh with a dark past. »
