- Enoch J. Drebber was an American Mormon and the dead man discovered at 3, Lauriston Gardens which started the affair. 439
- He was murdered by Jefferson Hope (1427), because he was instrumental in the murder of John Ferrier (2149), whose daughter, Lucy Ferrier, was forced to became his eighth wife (2309).
- He fled the vengeance of Jefferson Hope from America to London where he was eventually murdered by Hope (2309).
