During the progress of the Rugby match at Portsmouth (Southsea Victorias v. United Services) on Saturday, H. C. Brown, one of the Southsea forwards, received an injury to his leg, and had to be carried off the field. Dr. A. Conan Doyle, who was on the ground, examined the injured limb; and, although no bones were broken, the leg was badly lacerated. Brown was removed to his home in a cab.
