FINAL TIE.
WINCHESTER v. PORTSMOUTH. — This contest, which was extended into three days, on Wednesday ended in a victory for Winchester by 151 runs. Altogether 997 runs were scored. C. J. R. Richards alone securing three figures. P. B. Vanderbyl contributed ninety-six for the winners and also did well in the bowling department. On one occasion he sent the ball 44 yards 1 ft 10 in, the distances being measured by Holmes and Young, two of the county umpires. Score:
