A CENTURY BY H. S. SNELL.
The concluding day of the match at Lord's was marked by the capital play of H. S. Snell during Wiltshire's second innings. Soon after the commencement he "collared" the bowling, and hitting hard, scored 114. Snell's principal hits were fifteen 4's and six 3's. The innings closed for 256. In their second venture M.C.C. required 241 to avert defeat, but their innings only realised 176 runs. Wiltshire winning by 65 runs. Smith took four wickets for 36. Full score and analysis:—
