Mr. Holmes
Mr. Holmes is a British movie produced by BBC Films, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher (based on Mitch Cullin's novel A Slight Trick of the Mind) and directed by Bill Condon, released on 17 july 2015, starring Ian McKellen as Sherlock Holmes.
In 1947, Sherlock Holmes, retired since long, is trying to write the story of his last case but he suffers troubles of memory and has to rebuild the puzzle.
Far from the usual clichés, Sherlock Holmes is even mocking the adaptations with actors wearing a deerstalker, describing them as totally rubbish. And he says he didn't like the pipe, preferring the cigar.

- At the movie theatre, the poster of the movie is "Sherlock Holmes and the Grey Lady", like the Danish silent movie Den Graa Dame with Viggo Larsen (1909) and the German movie Sherlock Holmes: Die graue Dame with Hermann Speelmans (1937)
- The actor playing Sherlock Holmes in the movie seen by the McKellen's Holmes is Nicholas Rowe who was Sherlock Holmes in 1985 in the movie Young Sherlock Holmes.

Plot Summary
