Sherlock Holmes is an American 4-act play, written by William Gillette and Arthur Conan Doyle, directed by Frank Dunlop, performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Broadhurst Theatre (New York, NY, USA) from 22 april to 12 may 1975, starring Patrick Horgan as Sherlock Holmes and Dennis Cooney as Dr. Watson.
This play was the continuation of the play with John Wood as Sherlock Holmes in the same theatre where Horgan played Sir Edward Leighton. From 13 may 1975, Horgan was replaced by John Neville and he took back his role of Sir Edward Leighton (see play), then Neville was replaced by Robert Stephens from 19 august 1975 (see play).
The play is an adaptation of the William Gillette's Sherlock Holmes (1899).
