Plot summary

Holmes goes to a manor to investigate the murder of Sir Charles, presumably at the hands of an heir. Sir Charles died in the Tower room which according to a legend is supposed to kill whoever sleeps in it. Holmes decides to stay in the room for a night. He almost dies but with no visible reasons. He avoids death and keeps the occupants in suspense, then divulges the actual killer.
