The Crucifer of Blood (TV movie 1991)

The Crucifer of Blood is a British-American TV movie produced by Agamemnon Films, British Lion Film Corporation, Lynch Entertainment and Turner Pictures first released on 4 november 1991 (USA), starring Charlton Heston as Sherlock Holmes and Richard Johnson as Dr. Watson. 90 min.
The story is a mix of stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle :
- The story starts like in the original story of The Man with the Twisted Lip, where Mrs St-Clair asks Holmes to find his husband (his father in the movie).
- His father was involved in the Agra treasure theft (The Sign of Four).
- In the boat-chase on the Thames, Jonathan Small navigates on The Gloria Scott (rather than The Aurora).

Plot summary
The young Irene St. Claire enlists Holmes' and Watson's help for her father, a former veteran of the Great Indian Mutiny, who has become a hopeless opium addict. His drug dependence is a direct result of guilt and fear arising from a blood pact of secrecy made during the siege of Agra in 1857 in which he was party to the theft of a maharajah's treasure, murder, and betrayal. When an avaricious co-conspirator dies under mysterious circumstances, St. Clair is certain that the curse will strike him next...
