The New Catacomb, A Scandalous Tale is the 9th episode of the British TV series Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Written by John Hawkesworth and directed by Mary Ridge, released on 19 march 1967 on BBC, starring Christopher Matthews as Monkhouse Lee.
In Rome, Lee has discovered a new catacomb, rumours of which attract his rival, Hugo Danvers. Lee refuses to give up the secret of his fund unless Danvers trades a secret of his own. They agree to Danvers recounting his short-lived affair with a quiet English girl called Mary Bradshaw...
This is an adaptation of the Arthur Conan Doyle's short story : The New Catacomb (1898).
