The Return of Sherlock Holmes (play 1953)

The Return of Sherlock Holmes is a British 2-act play, written by J. E. Harold Terry and L. Arthur Rose, directed by L. Arthur Rose and Ernest Dudley, performed at the New Theatre (Bromley, UK) from 20 january to february 1953, starring Geoffrey Edwards as Sherlock Holmes and Jack Lambert as Dr. Watson.
The play is a mix of Arthur Conan Doyle's short stories : The Adventure of the Final Problem (1893), The Adventure of the Empty House (1903), with also characters from The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton (1904) and The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax (1911).
It shows the weaving of the web which is set to entrap Holmes. The case on which Holmes is consulted takes almost a secondary place to the battle of wits between the detective and Colonel Moran.
