Another idea : why not monuments of our popular literary characters? Sir James Barrie gave Peter Pan to Kensington Gardens; why should not Sir Arthur Conan Doyle beautify Baker Street with a statue of Sherlock Holmes, Cutcliffe Hyne could weigh in with a Captain Kettle somewhere — I can't think where at the moment. Mr. T. J. Bell could easily find a suitable site for a Wee Macgreegor in his native Glasgow.
